July Events

Now that PBP qualification is over, NER shifts to specialty rides which are fun and keep the fitness up for longer events later in the summer.

July 20th – Newport & Plymouth 300k: First run in 2018, Jacob Layer is bringing back this great route. Riders leave Wellesley, MA and head due south to Newport, RI. From there, riders head Northeast to Plymouth, MA before returning to Wellesley. The route has been tweaked for 2019 to remove the section in Canton on the return. This route has a moderate amount of climbing and some long flat sections. Bikereg Registration for this event.. (Pre-Reg and NER Membership required for all 2019 events.)

July 27th – Overnight 200k: This is the now classic 200k which leaves after the sun goes down and continues through sunrise. Riders start at Ride Studio Cafe in Lexington, MA at 9pm and have until Sunday at 10:30am to return. The route is rolling with nothing steep or long. It’s great nighttime riding practice or just for riders who enjoy cycling under the stars. Most roads are deserted after midnight when riders have entered New Hampshire. BikeReg Registration for this event.

August 3rd – Oh Canada 400k: Another classic NER Vermont event. This 400k starts in Woodstock, VT and heads to North Troy on the Canadian boarder before returning to Woodstock on a adjacent roads. This route is notable in that is has a fairly simple cue sheet (easy navigation) and also only moderate elevation gain for Vermont. A good route for riders looking for one last 250 mile ride before PBP or other later season events. VT 400k Registration.
