June Events

June 1st Lake Champlain 300k & 200k. Big thanks to Sarah for reviving this route first offered almost a decade ago but not offered for the past few years. This is an ride starting from Burlington, VT and continuing counter counter-clockwise entirely around the lake (300k) or taking a ferry shortcut (200k). Much of the route is lightly rolling but there are some hills when riders cross back into Vermont. Lots of photos and detail on the event page or jump straight to the BikeReg registration.

June 8thPortland Daytrip (200k) and Portland Express (400k). This has become a classic NER route. Riders leave from Woburn, MA and continue along a mostly coastal route to Portland, ME. Riders on the 200k are done in Portland and the 400k riders turn around and take an inland route back to Woburn. The section to Portland is mostly flat but winds are something to note. The return leg is more rolling but with fairly light traffic for the overnight. There is a few miles of unpaved bike trail inbound and outbound. Registration page.

June 29thCT River Tango 600k. This challenging route is the last chance to qualify for PBP. It’s a scenic tour of New England with sections for everyone: Hilly segments, flat segments, long climbs, short climbs, small cities, and lots of rural landscapes. One of my (Jake’s) favorite routes. We greatly thank Bruce M. for generously allowing NER to use his stately home in Williamstown as the overnight control. Important note: Limited bathroom facilities at the overnight control. Riders who prefer a real bed, private bathroom, etc should consider making reservations for their own accommodations in Williamstown. There are several motels on-route and riders should book their accommodations ASAP. Event Registration Page.
