Why become an NER member:
- You show that you support NER and our events.
- You are eligible for members-only events and discounts.
- We waive the pre-registration fees for event! (The day-of-event surcharge still applies if you don’t pre-register.)
How to become a member:
Starting in 2013, memberships are available for $65 with no volunteer requirement as in the past. We offer complementary memberships to those who volunteered last year or are organizing an event this year. If you volunteer for an event in 2013 you’ll be eligible for a complimentary membership next year.
You can become a member online or save $3 and become a member by mail (Editable PDF). Regardless of how you register, current members will be listed on the BikeReg “Who’s Registered” page of BikeReg NER membership page.
While we no longer are requiring that members volunteer, we strongly encountage it. Our events only happen due to the commitment of our members. Volunteer duties include staffing a control, leading an event, verifying the route cue, delivering supplies, etc. While many volunteer duties preclude riding on the day of the event, volunteers can pre-ride an event up to two weeks in advance and still receive RUSA/ACP credit.
If you volunteered in 2012, contact volunteer coordinator Emily O’Brien this year to claim your complementary membership. Also contact Emily, Bruce, or a ride leader about helping out on an event this year.
Membership Fine Print: The membership discount is only good for member themselves, not their spouse, children, etc. The Fleche entry fee still applies unless all team members are also NER members. Members who do not notify the ride leader or RBA on the Tuesday before an event will be asked to pay the day-of registration surcharge of $5/$10.
