NER Board Elections 2015

Have you ever wanted more of a hand in keeping our club going? Now is your chance! We’ll be holding the annual Board election this fall. Nominations will be accepted from now through Monday, October 5th. To nominate yourself (or someone else), send an email to elections@nerandonneurs.org with your intention to run, plus a short candidate statement about why you a running, your experience as a rider or volunteer, and what you hope to contribute to NER if elected.

Board meetings are typically held five or six times per year as needed, at a location agreed upon by Board members. Those who cannot attend in person call in via conference call, so you do not need to live in the Boston area in order to participate fully!

Once all the nominations are in, we’ll send out ballots with self-addressed, stamped envelopes to all members. Please vote and return your ballot right away, as state law requires a certain percentage of members to vote in order for the election to be valid. The new Board will choose the Officers (President, Treasurer, and Clerk) at the first meeting. You do need to be an NER member to vote or to run for the Board, so if you haven’t gotten around to signing up, you can purchase a 2015 membership here:

All that said, you do not need to be a board member in order to help out! As always, you can write to Emily O’Brien or send a contact form to “Volunteer Coordinator” on the “Contact” page of the NER website to volunteer. For some ideas of how you might help, check out the pages listed under “volunteer resources” on the righthand sidebar of the website.

See you all on the road!

Emily O’Brien, NER clerk
